The company scheel-shell seats was founded by Mr. Rolf Scheel in Stuttgart. As a racing driver, Rolf was not satisfied with the flat seats at the time. He knew there was a better way and he was striving to develop it. His breakthrough was a backrest shape that closely approximated the curvature of the human spine, combined with a lateral support structure that kept the rider firmly attached to the machine. In cooperation with the then prominent racing driver Mr. Hans Koster, Scheel further developed the unique design of the Scheel seat. The rest is history.
